Where can i do Birding in Porto Area?

There’s some places where you can observe birds in Northern Portugal, but there’s one that is special, Esposende. Away from the busy City it fuses human and nature in perfect synchrony. Along 16 km’s of beautiful coastal beaches, Parque Natural Litoral Norte, is an amazing place to do birdwatching. Its boundaries are set by two rivers, Cávado and Neiva, and the former has a large dimension estuary, that provides shelter and food for all the migratory birds. The receding tide, slowly, uncovers mudflats and canals, which are a wonderful avifauna habitat. The reed marshes and underbrush create fine conditions for birds to build their nests and to safely raise their younglings.

But there’s more than this, the fields, and lagoons upriver, the small hills, residency for birds of prey and warblers, are a few minutes away, and giving us a chance to spot many birds in one single day…
